FUN FACTS:
In the early 1800s, settlers in greater numbers began moving into the Bonhomme Township near the spring, off a trail from St. Louis established by fur traders and Indians, then called Rue de Bonhomme and eventually known as Manchester Road.

“The city was named after an early surveyor named David Manchester,” said Til Keil, a member of the Old Trails Historical Society. “It is recorded that a survey of Manchester was registered in 1804 when the United States acquired the Louisiana Territory.”
